Getting ready for the 2 Minute 5K

We are getting ready to participate in the YWCA 2 Minute 5K for our 6th time and want to share some ways you can join us.

They call it the 2 Minute 5K because statistically every 2 minutes someone in the United States is sexually assaulted. This race raises awareness and funds to help victims of sexual assault.

It’s happening Saturday, April 18th at Stars and Stripes Park in Oklahoma City. All proceeds from this race benefit the YWCA’s programs to help victims of sexual assault! It only takes 2 minutes to sign up, but your support could make a lifetime of difference to a survivor who needs it!

There’s a new option this year: Snooze for SAAM (Sexual Assault Awareness Month). This is for people who can’t or don’t want to do the 5K but still want to be a part of things and receive a race t-shirt. This is the option I chose for this year, I just didn’t want to walk an hour again this year, instead I’ll do the Kiddie K with Joanna.

You can join us by:

New phone service

Our phone drama has continued, but we seem to have settled on a plan and devices (hopefully) that will work for awhile. If you’re looking for a new service provider and end up with Cricket Wireless, we can each get a $25 credit if you use the referral link below:

We looked at lots of plans and Cricket was the least expensive. They’ve been bought by AT&T, so it’s those towers that provide the service. We’ve had it for just under a month and haven’t had any problems with reception. So, if you’re looking to lower your phone bill you may wanna check them out. And, if you do and go with them, going through the link above could save us each $25.
